Evangelist · Developer · IT Technician

"Jesus first. Then code, coffee, and whatever else the day brings."

I grew up in a small rural town in South Africa, Sasolburg. One day I dialled up on the internet, played around with old desktops, and somehow I just knew this was it. I didn't have a plan. I just had curiosity and a love for building things that actually matter to people. Turns out God knew before I did.

Since 2020 I've been doing IT support, building websites, evaluating AI models and developing Android apps. No straight line, no perfect path. Just showing up and learning. I have my struggles. In learning, in tech, in life. But one thing is always constant. Jesus. And I keep moving forward in His footsteps.

Writing always interested me but I never took the leap. Until now. Small beginnings, not yet big, but I trust Jesus. These skills aren't mine, they were given to me. And I have every will and bone in my body working to use them to reflect Christ to the world. Because He didn't save us to sit still.

"Go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."

— Matthew 28:19

Faith

I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of the only God. He is my Lord, my shepherd, and the rock I build everything on. Not just on Sundays. Every day, every project, every line of code.

I believe the Bible is the living word of God. Not just a guide or a rulebook, but a foundation. The kind that doesn't shift when life gets hard.

Faith for me isn't something I just confess. It's something I live out in my work, my struggles, my growth, and the way I treat people. Every skill I have is a gift, and I intend to use every single one of them to reflect Jesus to a world that desperately needs to meet Him.

"For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works."

— Ephesians 2:10

I build things that work. Web apps, Android apps, IT systems, websites. If it solves a real problem for a real person, I'm interested.

I've worked with JavaScript, Python, Kotlin, Java, and a handful of others. I'm comfortable on the web, on Android, in a terminal, or under a desk fixing someone's network. I evaluate AI models, prompt engineer, and I've built and managed a real client website that's live right now.

But it doesn't stop at software. I build physical things with my hands too, and there's something deeply satisfying about making something tangible from nothing. I edit video, design graphics, and I've done live stage and production work in a real church environment. Creative and technical. I don't think those have to be separate things.

More than the tools though, I care about why I build. Technology is a mission field. Every project is an opportunity to do excellent work that quietly points to something bigger.

Guitar

Electric, and I'm not going to pretend I'm good yet. But that's kind of the point. There's something freeing about being bad at something and doing it anyway. No deadlines, no debugging. Just sound, strings, and the slow satisfaction of getting a little better each time. It feels a lot like prayer sometimes.

🌿

Nature

Really outside. Fishing at dawn, hiking trails, hunting, and just exploring places most people don't bother to find. Some of my best conversations with God happen out there.

Coffee

Not just any coffee, well roasted, properly brewed, worth slowing down for. And honestly, coffee makes reading your Bible early morning a whole lot easier. That's just facts.

日本語

Learning Japanese, slowly, intentionally, and with great respect for how hard it is. There's something about becoming a beginner again that's good for the soul. Also, Ryuu means dragon in Japanese. So there's that.

People > Screen

Always people. I spent a year doing video editing and stage production at a church, one of the best years of my life. Technology is always in service of people, never the other way around.

Exploring

Curious about everything. If it moves, grows, or sits still in an interesting way, I want to get closer and find out more. God made a remarkable world and I intend to see as much of it as possible.

Let's Connect

If you made it this far, then you already know who I am. So let's not waste time. Reach out.

I'm not here to network. I'm here to connect. There's a difference. Real connection is built on honesty, shared purpose, and genuine care for the other person. That's what I'm after.

If you're a developer trying to figure out how faith fits into this industry, let's talk. If you're someone who just needs to hear that Jesus is enough even when the code doesn't compile and life doesn't make sense, let's talk. If you just want to argue about coffee brewing methods, I'm also available for that. ☕

This blog exists because God put it on my heart to show up, be real, and use what He gave me. So if something here resonated with you, that wasn't me. That was Him. And He's worth talking about.
